John Weiss Launches ACROFine Single Use Instrument Range

The advent of single use instruments and the recommendations for ‘the use of single use instruments where possible’ when performing ‘high-risk’ surgical procedures, has not only led to a growth in the single use market segment, but has also resulted in massive reform in decontamination procedures, creating increased demand globally for reusable instruments due to new processes and longer lead times. Even with the favourable response to the quality and consistency of the Weiss Single Use collection, the heightened requirements for handcrafted reusable instruments will remain the John Weiss production priority.

Considering this priority while recognising the significant place that single use instruments have found along side reusable products, has led to a formidable international partnership between John Weiss & Son Ltd. and Eyeline Organisation Ltd.

Eyeline was founded in 2003 by an international group of ophthalmologists with the aim to apply cutting edge innovation to the uncompromising design and quality of single use instruments. The ACROfine dispøz® brand provides an extensive range of individual single use stainless steel instruments, including forceps, needleholders, scissors and a variety of manipulators and probes. These instruments are also available in an impressive collection of procedure packs for phaco, sub-tenons, oculoplastic, and intra-vitreal injections to name a few. The ACROfine range is manufactured and quality assured by ophthalmologists for ophthalmologists.

“John Weiss and Eyeline both pride themselves on the ability to respond to customer demands by delivering consistent, quality products, attention to details and innovation,” explains Michael Bench, Managing Director of John Weiss. “This unique partnership will offer surgeons both the traditional handcrafted precision reusable instruments that they have come to expect from John Weiss, and the single use solution they never ‘expected’.”

The entire ACROFine range is now online. An A5 brochure, price list and procedure pack spec sheet is also available. John Weiss offers a diverse collection of handcrafted precision stainless steel and titanium microsurgical instruments inspired by surgeons for over two centuries, reflecting a unique insight into all ophthalmic disciplines, as well as an impressive compilation of international brands including Feather, Coronet, Keraring, MedOne, Morcher, Odyssey, Platinum Lid Chains, BioEye and now ACROFine.
