UK Brand -- CORONET

Artificial Anterior Chamber

On the Cutting Edge

The Coronet Artificial Anterior Chamber allows donor cornea material to be supported on a chamber of balanced salt solution, the pressure of which can be varied to recreate the required intraocular pressure. This allows the surgeon to either cut the donor button from the epithelial surface, mirroring the cut on the recipient cornea, or dissect the donor cornea for deep lamellar corneal procedures. The Coronet AAC is unique in concept in that it is suitable for any size donor graft tissue, one size fits all.

Cutting the donor button from the epithelial surface ensures that the donor button will have a similar wound architecture to that of the recipient. It also reduces potential damage to delicate endothelial tissues and facilitates better approximation with the recipient cornea, which in turn reduces the likelihood of post-operative scarring and astigmatism.
