Materials and Manufacturing
Materials
John Weiss offers a complete range of both Stainless Steel and Titanium surgical instruments. Traditional stainless steel is incredibly hard, strong and durable, resistant to rust and especially suited to scissors. Titanium is totally inert, eliminating rust and flakes, incredibly strong, extremely durable, non-magnetic, non-reflective and lightweight.

Manufacturing
All John Weiss ophthalmic surgical instruments are hand-crafted to ensure uncompromised excellence and unsurpassed precision. Our highly skilled network of specialised craftsmen is dedicated to continuing the time-honoured tradition set by John Weiss himself, “furthering the design of new instruments, rather than merely cashing in on the expanding trade of established ones.” Excerpt from an Abstract by Werner Teichmann. Investigate the raw materials, blanks, blank combinations, hand finishing and processes involved in the manufacture of all John Weiss surgical instruments.
